  • Position Summary

    The Finance Department is seeking a senior financial analyst to support the company’s strategic planning efforts. This is a unique opportunity for candidates with finance or investment banking experience to obtain oil and gas operating company experience in the context of corporate finance at a premier, dual-basin operator who has vertically integrated into the midstream and oilfield service (“OFS”) businesses. The position will be focused on the following disciplines.

    1. Corporate Planningfocused on setting the strategic direction of our upstream business and would work to incorporate P&L forecasts from our midstream and oilfield service subsidiaries to complete a corporate rollup of our vertically integrated enterprise. These responsibilities would allow the candidate to interact with nearly all of the senior management of our various business units to forecast our business and set the strategic direction for our company to execute upon.
    2.  Midstream and Oilfield Service Planning – focused on setting the strategic direction of our midstream and OFS verticals. In doing so the candidate would work directly with these two business units and would take key inputs from the Corporate Planning models to set the strategic direction for these subsidiaries to execute upon. To the extent there are M&A or other corporate development opportunities within these two verticals, the candidate would have the opportunity to analyze these as well.

    This position would report to the Managing Director of Finance. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Maintain and improve corporate budgeting, planning and modeling processes
    • Lead the collection of various data inputs from across the organization in order to forecast volume, cash flow, capital, and balance sheet metrics
    • Support operations groups within the company by providing analysis on strategic initiatives
    • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to enable the company to most optimally allocate capital
    • A portion of the analyst’s time could also be allocated to other needs within the Finance Department such as capital markets, business development, and investor relations
    • Effectively build presentations and communicate financial information to senior level executives
    • Ability to think strategically about implications of allocating capital across different business units with a focus on maximizing the value of the company

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 2 years of experience in either the finance field or with an E&P operating company
    • Excellent writing, analytical and presentation skills
    • Must have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of the organization and across many different disciplines
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive projects with a can-do attitude - doing what it takes to get the job done well
    • Excellent writing, analytical and presentation skills
    • Expert MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel user (experience with technical tools such as Spotfire, Enersight, IHS, DrillingInfo a plus)
    • Ability to build and maintain complex financial models and manage large amounts of data
    • Ability to take ownership of new tasks and problems and solve them with precision and thoughtfulness
    • Team player with intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, an innovative bent, and persistent attention to detail
