  • Position Summary

    Oasis is seeking an Operations Accounting Manager for its corporate office located in Houston, TX.  This position will be responsible for managing all cost functions associated with the E&P segments such as Capital, Lease Operating Expense, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Leasehold, Non-Operated JIB, Materials Inventory and DD&A.  This position reports directly to the Director of Accounting. Salary and level will be commensurate with experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Manage preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
    • Monitor department processes to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
    • Manage and monitor functional metrics and processes such as invoice aging, owner balances, AR bad debt, DD&A, accruals, material inventory and leasehold cost/impairment.
    • Ensure SOX controls are being executed and pertinent to the current environment; review and update controls as necessary; participate in controls testing by both internal and external auditors
    • Work with each direct report to establish team goals and individual goals and monitor performance throughout the year
    • Actively develop staff by answering questions, assisting with process changes and enhancements, knowledge sharing, providing open communication and providing constant feedback
    • Be a key point of contact for the Accounting team as it relates to Operations Accounting
    • Collaborate with other departments to promote team work and innovation
    • Provide leadership and strategic direction for critical company-wide projects and/or initiatives

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
    • 10+ years of Oil & Gas Accounting experience, including Operations accounting functions
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience in Oil & Gas Accounting
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to create and/or improve processes
    • Ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively across the organization
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy
    • Flexibility to grow and expand with company needs
    • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
