  • Position Summary

    Due to ongoing growth, we are currently seeking an experienced engineer to join the completions engineering group. The Senior Completions Engineer will work cross functionally within the organization and be responsible for various technical and non-technical tasks supporting completion and workover operations. This role will report directly to the Completions Manager and is based in our downtown Houston location. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

    Essential Job Functions


    • Prepare procedures and AFEs for stimulation operations on new wells, re-stimulations, clean outs, remediations and workovers
    • Track projects and perform after action reviews with an emphasis on learning and communicating best practices throughout the team
    • Provide technical and problem solving support with field personnel
    • Daily coordination with field personnel
    • Prepare inventory requirements for projects and assist supply chain in issuing bids for equipment and services
    • Optimize spending and budget considerations with suppliers to ensure equipment and services align with Oasis EHS expectations, add value and are provided in a timely manner


    • Investigate alternate fracture stimulation applications for use in the Bakken and make recommendations for implementing new techniques on Oasis wells
    • Work with Reservoir and Geology to identify key components for improving stimulation treatments to achieve the right balance of cost and performance
    • Interact with govt. regulatory officials to ensure proper approvals and permits
    • Evaluate stimulation companies and work to develop best in class vendors for Oasis completions. Work closely to ensure that key materials such as proppant, tanks, trucking, wireline, and water are available for Oasis activity.

    Budget Planning:

    • Coordinate and track budgets for operated projects. Incorporate the technical aspects of development plans including identification of potential constraints on implementation and the impact on budget
    • Track actual spending to ensure that projects meet budget objectives

    Business Development:

    • Assist in acquisitions and divestitures by working closely with Geology, Reservoir, Land and Operations to estimate reserves and future cost impacts for the economic model.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 5 years Oil & Gas engineering experience
    • 2 years as Completions Engineer
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
    • Openwells or equivalent experience
    • Travel to field basins required

    Preferred Qualifications
