  • Position Summary

    Oasis Midstream Services is recruiting for a Plant/Field Engineer to be based out of our Watford City, ND office and will report to the Senior Staff Processing Assets Engineer located in our Houston, TX office.  Level and salary commensurate with experience.

    Oasis Midstream is a subsidiary of Oasis Petroleum, responsible for gathering and handling of all the parent company’s oil, gas and produced water.

    Essential Job Functions

    Candidates with a degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Civil engineering will have an opportunity to gain experience in Gas gathering, compression and processing, Crude gathering, stabilization and storage and Produced Water handling. Responsibilities may include:

    • Process engineering calculations and design
    • Development of piping hydraulic models
    • Process simulation development
    • Project scoping, development and execution
    • Plant and field operations support and optimization
    • Participate in Process Hazards Analyses (PHAs)
    • Other duties assigned by supervisor

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
    • Live or relocate to a 50 mile commuting radius of Watford City, ND
    • Demonstrates the ability to identify and develop optimal solutions to challenges that arise
    • Takes initiative by seeking out opportunities to improve facilities operations and job responsibility efficiencies
    • Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills
    • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  
      • Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
      • Able to handle exposure to noise, extreme weather conditions, and areas where hazardous chemicals are present

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Internship experience in related Gas gathering, compression and processing
    • Experience with ProMax or other process simulation software
    • Strong understanding of Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics
    • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and the ability to implement a sustainable program
