  • Position Summary

    This individual will provide technical support to Geologists and Engineers. This position is located in downtown Houston, TXLevel and salary is commensurate with experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Create and manage full geological database builds (logs, core data, production data, well header data, land grids, etc.) in Kingdom Geology for existing and new projects
    • Assist in data capture, data manipulation, and interpretation of all subsurface data – raster log data, digital log data, core data, cross-sections, 2-D & 3-D seismic data experience is a plus
    • Support mapping generation efforts including gridding of multiple well performance and geologic attributes and grid to grid calculations
    • Digitize raster log data
    • Geo-reference & digitize geological maps/elements
    • Creation of Management Presentation slides in Power Point
    • Work within virtual data rooms to extract information and format for analyses with the geoscience staff
    • Organize and maintain all digital data gathered and digital products generated by the Business Development Group, on the dedicated departmental hard drive space

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Geology degree or related field
    • 5 years of Geoscience Analyst/Tech experience
    • A&D experience – virtual data room experience
    • Proficient in Kingdom (Data loading and Mapping)
    • ArcGIS platform \ AutoCAD experience
    • Proficient in Spotfire  
    • Substantial MS Office experience (SQL Server, Access, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
    • IHS & DI well data/production management experience
    • Regulatory data gathering experience (permits, fracture stimulation data, core data, etc.)
    • Global mapper experience for digitizing, geo-referencing, and coordinate conversions
    • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
