  • Position Summary

    To support ongoing growth, we are currently seeking a Marketing Accountant to support the Oasis Petroleum Marketing group with various functions related to our oil and gas assets in North Dakota, Montana, and Texas. The Marketing Accountant’s primary responsibilities include preparing monthly actual and accrual schedules, preparing profit/loss, balance sheet and elimination journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, monthly financial analysis, and prior period adjustments (PPAs). This position reports directly to the Marketing Accounting Supervisor and is located in downtown Houston, TX.

    Salary and level will be commensurate with experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Prepare monthly actual & accrual schedules
    • Prepare monthly journal entries, including eliminations
    • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and various analysis
    • Coordinate with marketing, midstream and production teams to ensure accounting entries are accurate
    • Manage AR and AP balances and cash application
    • Accurately track and record inventory and imbalances
    • Maintain SOX Controls
    • Process PPA’s for selected operated properties
    • Other duties include but not limited to:
      • Maintain policies and procedures related to specific job duties
      • Assist and participate in special projects, as needed

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree
    • 5 years of Oil & Gas Accounting experience
    • MS Excel Proficiency
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to create and/or improve processes
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Develop a relationship and communicate effectively with various areas of the organization
    • Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy
    • Flexible to grow and expand with company needs
    • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
