  • Position Summary

    We are currently recruiting for an individual to lead the Investor Relations (“IR”) team at Oasis Petroleum (“OAS”) and Oasis Midstream Partners (“OMP”).  This individual will report to the SVP – Finance and Treasurer of Oasis Petroleum/CFO of OMP and will supervise the senior financial analyst – IR. In this role, the Director – IR will work directly with all senior executives to develop Oasis’ IR strategy. In addition, the individual will be responsible for managing external relationships with the investment community and sell-side. 

     

    The individual is expected to: 

    • Communicate the company’s financial results, operations and business strategy to current and prospective shareholders as well as to sell-side analysts
    • Drive the company’s IR programs to achieve the company’s corporate and strategic goals within the investor community
    • Own creation of board materials, press releases, quarterly results releases, scripts, and investor presentations
    • Execute key communication strategies in addition to developing and maintaining strong relationships within the investment community
    • Manage IR calendar including events such as non-deal road shows, investor and industry conferences, internal investor meetings and investor days
    • Lead and develop the IR team

    This position will report to the Finance & Treasurer Senior Vice President and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Develop and assist in the creation of messages and materials for the investment community, including press releases, conference call scripts, Q&A prep, road show presentations, etc.
    • Maintain the OAS and OMP websites and publish IR materials
    • Track and analyze sell-side analysts’ financial models and research on the company
    • Articulate the company’s strategy, financial results, and operations to current and potential shareholders and analysts
    • Responsible for the development and implementation of new investor communications initiatives
    • Coordinate with executives, operations, financial planning and other stakeholder communication roles to develop and refine the company’s key messaging
    • Gather competitive intelligence through competitive research efforts and collaboration with other areas of the company to create a bi-directional flow of information on key competitive trends and developments
    • Maintain strong company and sector expertise, staying current on all company and related industry activity in order to be responsive to investors and to communicate effectively with management
    • Act as the communication liaison between executive management and the media on financial matters
    • Additional duties as requested based on Company needs

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum of eight years of experience in finance, business development, planning and analysis for a public company, preferably in the oil and gas industry. Prior IR experience is highly desirable
    • A resourceful team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, ability to focus on detail and learn quickly with ability to lead an IR team and interact across an organization
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive projects and do what it takes to get job completed
    • Outstanding financial and investment analysis skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability
    • A clear and thorough understanding of the financial modeling and metrics used by investors and sell-side analysts to project a company's performance and stock value
    • A highly ethical individual with a clear and thorough understanding of Regulation FD and all applicable securities rules and regulations
    • An in-depth understanding of the financial and capital markets and the ability to establish new relationships quickly, both internally and externally
    • Strong interpersonal skills, high integrity, strategic thinker, superior intellect, and an outstanding ability to communicate using these qualities and skills
    • Experience and confidence to provide objective feedback to the most senior members of the company
    • Travel – required as needed to attend investor conferences and meet investors
    • Bachelor’s degree, including graduate degree preferred. Other professional designation (CFA, CPA) a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft products, with expertise in Excel (ability to build and maintain complex financial models) and PowerPoint
    • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

    Preferred Qualifications

    • IR experience with an E&P operating company or midstream MLP
