IT Software Support Analyst

Position Summary

This individual will be responsible for triage and analysis related to the IT incident queue. This includes categorizing incidents, initial diagnosis, resolving requests with documented solutions, escalating software deficiencies to vendor(s), generating potential solutions, and tracking issue(s) through to completion. This position is located in Williston, North Dakota, and will report to Application Support Manager in Houston, Texas.  Level and salary commesurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain an inventory of deployed hardware, software installations, and available equipment
  • Initialize and configure new hardware, iPads and Laptops, for office and field use
  • Assign and respond to tickets related to software/applications
  • Resolve incidents with known resolution listed in service catalog
  • Work under supervision of lead/manager to help with SOX reporting and requests
  • Validate results by testing programs/applications
  • Job requires some travel to support software/business needs
  • Assist in maintaining accurate documentation in catalog for requests and incidents
  • Assist senior analysts as needed with training, documentation, and software implementation/upgrades
  • Facilitate training for field applications and hardware
  • Create users, security groups, distribution groups, and handle network connectivity setup
  • Job will require occasional work on evenings and/or weekends

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in IT, related course study, or 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Ability to problem solve while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and service oriented mindset
  • Valid drivers license
  • Physical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 20 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Information Systems or related field 
  • 3 years of experience in similar role
  • 1 year or more of Oil and Gas experience 
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager imaging
  • Experience related to OpenWells, FDG, ACTS, or INTLX
