Position Summary

A Senior Reservoir Engineer is needed to assist with development planning, subsurface technical studies, and economic evaluations in the Delaware Basin. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, be self-motivated, be creative in problem solving, organized, foster strong working relationships, and have relevant unconventional Permian Basin experience. This position will report to the Delaware Asset Manager and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop detailed asset development plans
  • Recommend new-well spacing and wellbore placement through well performance evaluations, well testing, and simulation modeling
  • Generate periodic technical subsurface reports to increase companywide understanding of the reservoir system
  • Evaluate well economics for new drilling opportunities and valuations for leasing
  • Provide general company support for pre-spud activities
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop completion recommendations
  • Forecast future production for reserve valuations
  • Manage and facilitate reviews of the company’s Delaware drilling inventory
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to recommend capital workover projects
  • Additional duties as needed by management and Company operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering
  • 5 years of relevant operator work experience
  • 2 years of reservoir engineering experience
  • Experience working the Permian Basin
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant operator experience
  • 5 years of reservoir engineering experience
  • Petroleum Engineering degree
