  • Position Summary

    To support the continued growth of the Company, Oasis Petroleum is seeking a hard-working and detailed-oriented accountant within LOE Accounting to support the Operations Accounting Department. In this role, you would work with various intercompany departments to account for Lease Operating Expenses, including accrual tracking, variance analysis and reporting.  This position reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor and is located in downtown Houston, TX


    Salary and level will be commensurate with experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Account for Lease Operating Expenses, including Accruals, Analysis, Variances and Reporting
    • Research and resolve issues by working with Land and Operations
    • Create and Prepare Journal Entries
    • Calculate and record monthly Allocations and Producing Overhead
    • Process Intercompany invoices
    • Prepare Account Reconciliations, Complete Audit requests and Maintain SOX compliance
    • Assist Lead LOE Accountant and Capital Accountants
    • Handle and/or assist with special projects or other accounting related assignments as requested

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related degree
    • Strong Analytical Skills
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Develop a relationship and communicate effectively with various areas of the organization
    • Strong time management & Multi-Tasking skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy
    • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 2 years Oil and Gas accounting experience
    • Operations Accounting/Cost Accounting experience
    • Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table to improve processes
    • Strong Team Building Skills
    • Experience with Enertia accounting systems
    • Experience working in a small to medium size company
