  • Position Summary

    The primary purpose of this role is to provide Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) support and technical services across the Company, with a strong emphasis on employee occupational safety, EHS management systems and contractor safety management.  Candidates should be recognized for expertise in a particular EHS function/discipline or for broad cross‐discipline EHS knowledge. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX.

    Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Experience in building, maintaining, and working within an EHS Management System including the development of EHS documents that support operational safety practices.
    • Experience in managing contractor safety programs, promoting continuous improvement within the contractor workforce and working knowledge of PEC Safety and ISNetworld contractor management tools.
    • Ability to engage contractors in each phase of a contractor life cycle in order to meet and drive EHS expectations as well as execute contractor audits and inspections.
    • Experience with facilitating or participating in incident investigations, including follow up with operations teams to develop corrective actions from RCAs or regulatory and audit findings.
    • Develop a variety of business documents and deliver presentations in a clear and concise manner that is easily interpreted and actioned for continuous improvement.
    • Knowledge in Corporate Crisis and Emergency Response Management initiatives to support development of Business Unit Emergency Response Plans.
    • Support EHS Leadership to develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs across the organization.
    • Regularly manage concurrent projects and assignments.
    • Ability to represent the work group on cross-discipline project teams.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 4 years working knowledge and experience in E&P upstream operations.
    • 8 years of experience in a field or office-based EHS support role.
    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Fire Protection, Environmental Safety Engineering, or a related field.
    • Approximately 20% travel to regional offices/field locations expected.
    • Strong working knowledge of EHS Management Systems, OSHA, DOT and other applicable industry regulations.
    • Strong influence and partnering skills.
    • Strong written, verbal and PC skills (Microsoft Office, Incident Tracking Software, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 10 years of experience in an EHS role with some supervisory experience
    • ASP/CSP or similar accreditation
    • 5 years working knowledge and experience in E&P upstream and midstream field operations and land-based drilling and completions activities
