  • Position Summary

    This Sr. Geophysicist position is a technically based, personal contribution role.  The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team (Delaware Asset Team), located in Houston, Texas, providing and supporting reservoir mapping efforts for field development.  The successful candidate must have a strong foundation in practical seismic interpretation with specific skills related to modeling unconventional resource playsLevel and salary commensurate with background and experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Integrate 3D geophysical data sets (PSTM, PSDM, Typical Attributes, and Inversion Volumes), with petro-physical, engineering, and geologic data to better characterize the subsurface and create a subsurface model.
    • Continuously work with team to update and improve the established subsurface model with new internal and external data, as it becomes available.
    • Provide geophysical support in areas with 3D and older 2D, producing typical map products integrated with subsurface data (e.g. time and depth structure maps, isochron maps, & attribute maps)
    • Recommend and oversea new seismic acquisition and/or reprocessing efforts.
    • Work with a multidiscipline team to meet/exceed company goals for various projects
    • Regularly present efforts and results to all levels of management.
    • Apply expertise\knowledge to other basins or new venture opportunities, as needed.
    • Act as a mentor to less experienced employees

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 6 years functional industry experience as a Geophysicist
    • M.S. Degree in Geology or Geophysics
    • Recent Permian Basin Experience
    • Strong mapping skills
    • Good understanding of rock physics and seismic attributes
    • Experience pushing PSTM, PSDM volumes to true depth
    • Experience with full wave elastic inversion both Pre & Post Stack
    • Proficient user of SMT/Kingdom
    • Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Oral)
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
