  • Position Summary

    The Marketing Analyst will support the efforts of the Marketing Department and will interface with 3rd party service providers as well as multiple departments within the company.  This position reports to the Director of Gas Marketing and is located in our downtown Houston, TX office.  Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Prepare and send well connection notices to crude oil and natural gas gatherers in advance of the initial production from new wells
    • Be the initial point of contact for the 3rd party gas gatherers assigned to you.      
    • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with key contacts with each counterparty
      • Prepare monthly gas price accrual for assigned gatherers
    • Contract obligation tracking
      • Review and understand contract language for surveillance and enforcement of provisions for assigned gatherers
        • Run time of gas gatherers
        • Timely well connections of oil and gas gatherers
        • Pressure requirements
        • Penalty enforcement
        • Minimum volume commitment tracking
        • Other contract provisions
    • Interface with internal departments including Legal, Midstream, Development, Regulatory, Production as well as all Marketing teammates
    • Prepare and maintain statistical and analytic reports for Management
    • Support the Director and Team in ongoing contract negotiations.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Education / work experience
      • Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Management, Business or related field; OR
      • Bachelor’s Degree in any field not covered above AND 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including, Excel, Word and Power-point
    • Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to various requests
    • Keen interest in learning the oil and gas marketing business
    • Work well with teammates, cross training all tasks for backup purposes
    • Ability to interface professionally with contractual counterparties
    • Excellent organization skills
    • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
