Position Summary

With the continued growth of the Company, the IT Application Support Group is expanding to support the organization's increase of existing and new application needs.  The Analyst will be responsible for triage and analysis related to the IT application incident queue. This includes categorizing and prioritizing incidents, initial diagnosis, resolution of requests with solutions documented in service catalogs, escalating software deficiencies to vendors, generate potential solutions, and track issues through completion. Position is located in Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assigns and responds to tickets related to applications
  • Resolves incidents with known resolution listed in service catalog
  • Works under supervision of lead, or Manager, to help with SOX reporting and requests
  • Learns functionality of relevant business application systems in order to generate ideas for potential solutions to requests
  • Validates results by testing programs/applications
  • Job may require some travel and/or weekend work to support software/business priorities
  • Assists in maintaining accurate documentation in catalog for requests and incidents
  • Assists Senior Analysts as needed with training, documentation and software implementation/upgrades

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • 1-3 years IT Analyst experience or relevant IT degree/education 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and service oriented mindset
  • Initiative in problem solving
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 20 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Upstream and/or midstream oil & gas experience

  • Experience and/or knowledge of Enertia, OpenWells, FDG (Seven Lakes), EMK3, or any Supply Chain/MRP/Procure-to-Pay applications
