Position Summary

This position will be responsible for analyzing, preparing and maintaining lease and mineral records as well as provide administrative support to the Land and Land Administration groups as directed.  This position will report to the Lease Record Supervisor and is locate in downtown Houston, TX.  Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyzes, prepares and maintains lease and mineral records for operated and non-operated properties.
  • Review and input of Leases and related documents into the Enertia Land System
  • Conducts research, calculates interest and verifies titles for leases, mineral deed, conveyances and assignments
  • Monitor drilling activity related to lease expiration dates for expiring leases, continuous drilling clauses, held by production status
  • Monitor leasing activity / trade activity for lease status and impact to operated and non-operated drilling activity
  • Monitors, analyzes and submits documents for rental, minimum-royalty and shut-in payments
  • Determines working interests and burdens associated with interest based on title analysis of deeds, assignments, purchase & sale agreements, probate documents, leases and royalty agreements
  • Acts as liaison to Accounting, Marketing and Operating departments, when necessary, to respond to property related inquiries
  • Various administrative duties including filing, scanning, copying, research files etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 4 years of experience as a Lease Analyst 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be well organized and flexible
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities 
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbal
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with Enertia Land System
  • Experience working with state and federal leases within the Delaware & Williston Basin
