  • Position Summary

    Oasis Petroleum is seeking an innovative and results-driven Petrotechnical professional specializing in subsurface Reservoir Engineering and enhanced oil recovery methods. He/she will assess, recommend, and coordinate tight oil EOR pilot projects with an aim towards field-wide application.  Responsibilities may also include play assessment and technical leadership roles. This engineer will have a proven history of applying advanced technical reservoir engineering skills, assessing and implementing EOR projects, performing complex project analysis, and collaborating with a wide variety of sub-surface disciplines. The position is based in Houston, TX.  Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Assess, recommend, and lead EOR pilot tests in tight oil reservoirs
    • Collaborate with geologic and engineering staff to design and implement reservoir characterization and monitoring strategies, including coring, logs, pressure monitoring, well testing, etc...
    • Interact with industry experts to identify and implement advanced reservoir engineering technologies
    • Employ sound decision making methods to complex projects, including commercial and economic analysis
    • Manage simulation projects with outside resources; perform or lead in-house simulation efforts
    • Other duties as assigned by manager

    Minimum Qualifications

    • B.S. in Engineering
    • 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering with an emphasis on enhanced oil recovery and  subsurface technical skills
    • Tight oil development experience
    • Experience leading multi-discipline projects
    • Strong background in economics

    Preferred Qualifications

    • B.S. in Petroleum Engineering
    • 15 years of reservoir engineering experience with a strong emphasis on enhanced oil recovery and unconventional reservoirs
    • Well rounded in field with good set of cross-functional collaboration skills and visible examples
    • Outgoing & willing to lead by example; brings ideas to the table
    • Strong ability to communicate effectively across all functions in the organization
    • Actively participates in industry technical events
    • Educated in and applies risk analysis and decision quality methodologies
