Crude Oil Commercial Representative

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for marketing Oasis’ crude oil production and a broad range of strategic marketing projects.  This position will report to the Crude Marketing and Trading Manager and will be a key contributor to the Oasis Marketing group.  This position is located in downtown Houston, TX.  Salary and level commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Management of Oasis’ crude oil sales, including scheduling with a focus on North Dakota production
  • Full understanding of crude oil agreements
  • Review opportunities for downstream transportation and negotiate agreements where applicable  
    • Optimization and administration of existing Oasis crude oil transportation
  • Coordinate between oil buyers and the Williston region office to minimize wellhead inventories
  • Manage existing crude oil storage and review potential storage opportunities
  • Evaluate Monthly Net Realized Price, Volume and Revenue Recognition Process in conjunction with Accounting
  • Prepare and present Marketing presentations and reports
  • Work with an integrated team to analyze/understand North American supply/demand balances and fundamental market conditions for crude oil  
  • Help develop crude strategies to help capture best crude value
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the company and industry  
    • Travel to industry functions, seminars and shipper meetings
    • Williston Basin trips to gain knowledge of area and meet with Oasis and counterparty personnel
  • Provide input into acquisition and divestiture decisions which may involve analyzing multiple scenarios of price, volume, financing and logistic alternatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of oil & gas industry experience
  • 5 years of crude oil sales / trading experience
  • Strong analytical, spreadsheet and organizational skills
  • Attention to details and timely completion of required tasks
  • Flexible to adapt to new situations quickly; willingness to assume increasing levels of responsibility
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with various departments and seek out information and processes
  • Ability to properly access and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years in an oil and gas commercial setting
  • Williston Basin crude oil sales and scheduling experience
  • Enbridge pipeline-related experience (sales / scheduling)
  • DAPL pipeline-related experience (sales / scheduling)
  • Gulf Coast commercial experience
  • West Texas commercial experience
  • Ability to think and plan strategically and provide new solutions to the overall Crude Oil Marketing process
  • Ability to seek out alternative methods, generate new ideas, recognize opportunities and technology to improve business functions
  • Ability to perform new project research and detailed economic analysis
