Engineering Technician, Midstream

Position Summary

Provide technical support for the Midstream Operations team. Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to gather and analyze data in support of company operations.  This position will report to the Oasis Midstream Services Operations Manager and will be located in downtown Houston, TX.  Level and salary commensurate with experience. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with Operations, Engineering, Measurement, Accounting and IT groups to improve processes and streamline data gathering and analysis
  • Gather and review data from daily pipeline and facility operations
  • Maintain databases for Operations KPIs and data analysis – e.g. operations downtime, monthly operating costs, RCA and failures tracking
  • Prepare data and reports to assist Operations in tracking performance against targets
  • Work with Operations and Accounting on OPEX budgeting and accruals
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline and facilities capacities database
  • Assist with data gathering and filing for regulatory compliance
  • Participate with special projects and other duties as needed
  • Ability to work on quick turnarounds with short deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Team player with intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, an innovative bent and persistent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, independent contributor
  • Detail oriented and organized 
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Midstream facilities and operations
  • Experience in planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with other software programs (e.g. Visio, Project, Openwells, Enertia)
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining databases
