Position Summary

This individual provides critical technical support for the engineering associated with the Corporate Planning group. This is a unique opportunity for a candidate with strong technical prowess and systems understanding to make a direct impact on the company’s corporate planning systems and infrastructure. The position is located in downtown Houston, Texas. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Primary Corporate Planning user of a company-wide, commercial software used for annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Support corporate annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes by using and enhancing in-house Spotfire tools
  • Build, maintain and enhance custom analytical tools used for company-wide forecasting and surveillance
  • Provide support for other functions by creating ways for technology to expedite daily work processes via automation or other creative solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or related technical field (i.e. Engineering, Math, Physics)
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong computer and data management skills with proficiency in:
    • Spotfire
    • MS Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage large and complex databases with understanding of how to turn data into information for decision making purposes
  • Self-motivated, independent contributor
  • Team player with intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, an innovative bent, and persistent attention to detail
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong or expert proficiency in Enersight
  • Experience in planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with Aries
  • Proficiency in:
    • SQL with ability to build SQL queries
    • MS Access
    • VBA
