Position Summary

 

Under supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Inventory Operator is responsible for shipping, receiving, and transferring of materials at the OWS warehouse.  The Inventory Operator safely operates a variety of material transfer equipment including forklift, transfer pumps, chemical hoses and connectors, and augers.  Ensures all inbound/outbound shipments have appropriate documentation and paperwork.

Essential Job Functions

  • Follows all Oasis standard operating guidelines when loading, unloading, or transferring materials.
  • Familiar with SDS format, and how to utilize a SDS.
  • Receives shipments, inspects for proper quantity and quality, and stores inventory at proper locations within the warehouse. Investigates and resolves problems regarding shipment discrepancies.
  • Operates material transfer equipment to move products, equipment or materials in the warehouse or on/off of transport equipment.
  • Utilizes a ruler or other measuring device to accurately measure material volumes, and files appropriate paperwork for material volumes shipped or received.
  • Interprets strap chart/diagram and performs arithmetic.
  • Assists in tracking of inbound and outbound shipments of materials.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory control of warehouse items and equipment.
  • Maintains records and files in support of purchasing function and duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to carry out simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Good communication skills (oral and written) are required
  • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical,  functional capacity examination, and to be able to meet all physical requirements of the job

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in a chemical warehouse or bulk plant.
  • 1 year experience operating a forklift.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proficient with computers, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and other MS Office programs
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills as well as the ability to work independently with changing priorities.
  • Ability to think strategically.
