Position Summary

The Production Chemical Field Technician is responsible for delivery of production chemicals to well sites and also provides chemical treatments to wells.   This role requires safe operation and preventative maintenance of well site pumps as well as vehicles used to deliver product to customers, plants and/or warehouse locations. This position is located in Williston, ND. Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains inventory of chemicals on location for continuous and batch treating applications
  • Performs on-site bacteria testing, grind outs, well head sampling, tank sampling, water testing, compatibility testing, field sample analysis, and other tests as directed
  • Assist in ICP operation and training
  • Submits weekly activity reports and monthly chemical usage reports
  • Identify and solve problems with chemicals and equipment
  • Collects information regarding well treatments, interpret results, and propose solutions or enhancements to the chemical program
  • Works closely with Lease Operators to ensure high level of service quality
  • Maintains regular communication with field staff in order to report field problems, obstacles and/or safety hazards
  • Troubleshoots problems that can be solved chemically
  • Assists in optimization of production chemical program within assigned area
  • Maintains truck and equipment in a safe and operable condition at all times by performing daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections
  • Maintains driver’s hours of service by in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Recognizes and avoid safety hazards in the work environment
  • Properly loads trucks, prepare daily bills of lading, schedule the order of daily treatments and submit treating reports
  • Maintain and assist with lab supplies
  • Assist in collection of field samples
  • Submit lab data to Oasis Petroleum reporting system
  • Perform routine duties to conduct lab test following procedures or requiring the selection of test equipment and instrumentation procedures
  • May perform test using equipment that includes setup, calibration, trouble shooting, monitoring and data collection
  • May train other personnel, collect data, document test results, and assist preparing reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some technical or related training
  • 1 year Field Production Chemical experience
  • Detailed understanding of chemical hazards and chemical safety requirement’s
  • Basic knowledge of well site chemical pump trouble shooting and maintenance
  • Able to comply with DOT regulations and EH&S requirements
  • Must live within 50 mile radius of Williston, ND or willing to relocate to Williston, ND
  • Must be at least 21 years old for Company motor vehicle insurance
  • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical,  functional capacity examination, and to be able to meet all physical requirements of the job

Preferred Qualifications
