Position Summary

The Gas Pipeline Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of pipelines, compressors and auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, dehydration equipment, process equipment, valves and other related equipment. The position will be for the Wild Basin infrastructure build out and will assist with operations of the compressor station, as well as help with pigging other gas systems. This is a great opportunity for someone to get in on the ground floor of our midstream operations. This position is located in Watford City, North Dakota. Level and salary commensurate with experience.  Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Start, stop and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters
  • Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all engines, pumps and associated equipment at compressor stations, pipelines, and process plants
  • Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, seals, valves and instruments
  • Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe, pipeline appurtenances
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way, and gather or storage areas, including but not limited to repairing, painting, weed control, etc.
  • Maintain, adjust, make minor repairs, and operate equipment
  • Represent the Oasis during contacts with landowner/tenants, public officials/emergency officials and at local meetings. (One Call, Pipeline Groups, etc.)
  • Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
  • Train and oversee company and third party personnel as required (e.g., personnel in progression, transport drivers, contractors, visitors, etc.)
  • Perform governmental compliance activities (DOT, State Agencies, EPA, etc.)
  • Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives
  • Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans
  • Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures and regulatory standards
  • Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies during and after regular business hours including after dark hours, which require carrying a communication device
  • Inspect 3rd party construction as directed
  • Complete site specific technical training as applicable
  • Overtime may be required and is anticipated
  • Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself
  • Other duties as assigned and needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to comply with PHMSA DOT Regulations
  • Must be able to commute to and from location on a daily basis
  • Available to be on call and able to get to location as needed
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, & company software
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
  • Knowledge of operating costs and best practices associated with the equipment in area of responsibility
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
  • May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties and applicable to the job classification
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to work with customers, suppliers, other operations groups, engineering staff, and management
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and to handle competing demands with flexibility
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
    • Able to handle exposure to noise, extreme weather conditions, and areas where hazardous chemicals are present
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively
    • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, and to be able to meet all physical requirements of the job
