Position Summary

The DOT Compliance Representative provides support for DOT programs within the framework of Oasis. This position is responsible for processing, auditing, and maintaining all aspects as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration. This individual will be an integral member of the Safety team, reporting to the Safety Superintendent. This position will have a 9/80 schedule and will be based in Williston, North Dakota. Level and commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for reviewing and auditing driver’s logs to be compliant on a regular and as needed basis
  • Communicate driver daily log violations with local management
  • Maintain Driver Qualification files and DVIR reports per DOT requirements
  • Serve as liaison for external audits by regulatory agencies
  • Submit all required reports on a timely basis
  • Develop and update DOT policies and procedures as necessary or required
  • Keep abreast of any changes within the DOT regulations and ensure compliance
  • Provide training to DOT employees on federal and state rules and regulations and other training as determined
  • Have knowledge with DOT drug & alcohol programs
  • Works and communicates with necessary EH&S team members on all DOT incidents as well as key members in Human Resources and other departments as needed
  • Maintain all IFTA/IRP Mileage reporting and data integrity
  • Maintain administration requirements of all DOT fleet
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years experience working in a DOT compliance role
  • 2 years of work related experience dealing with the FMCSA regulations
  •      Ability to follow direction, take initiative and work independently when required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in working with confidential matters
  • Experience with electronic log conversion and/or programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree
  • 2 years’ of work related experience dealing with the PHMSA regulations
  • 2 years’ managing company programs
  • Class A CDL drivers’ license
  • Certified DOT Trainer
