Position Summary

The Mechanical/Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the compressors, pumps, lact and other rotating equipment, and will perform mechanical maintenance at plant and pipeline sites in compliance with company policy and procedures, and in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.  This position will report to the Foreman and is located in Watford City, ND.  Level and salary commensurate with experience. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain structural, mechanical and/or auxiliary equipment at pump stations
  • Overhaul compressors, pumps, and auxiliary equipment
  • Provide training to other company personnel on proper operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
  • Perform pump performance analysis
  • Interpret lubricating oil, coolant and other operating reports
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed
  • Oversee and inspect the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
  • Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns
  • Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork as required
  • Perform all work in compliance with company standards and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years oil & gas industry experience, midstream, gas plant operations or related work experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in heavy maintenance related to engine/compressor units
  • Possess strong communication skills and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to comply with DOT Regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret various company policies and procedures, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manual and blueprints
  • Ability to respond in a timely manner to any emergency or after-hours calls
  • Good communication skills - must be able to interface effectively with many internal and external customers, regulatory officials, company contacts and co-workers
  • Must have detailed knowledge of mechanical equipment, internal combustion engines, gas turbines, pumps, compressors, and related equipment
  • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software if applicable), trainable to custom software applications
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work all shifts / schedules as needed as well as scheduled on-call weekends
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and to handle competing demands with flexibility
  • Ability to work well with others and be self-directed with only general supervision
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively

  • Completed Arial compressor training
  • 5 years oil & gas industry experience, midstream, gas plant operations or related work experience
